So I have another question in reference to the seedlings and PH. Seedlings sprouted yesterday from Fox Farm Soil in 4" planters and should be watered with sprayer. I'm using water from tap that measures a ph of 7.74, do I now need to lower this before continuing to spray since it was only used before for germination? And I'm sure there will be more questions as this process continues as I've got this thing about not letting anything die that I'm suppose to be caring for. However, I have plants in my home that are over 8 years old and I just never really thought about the science of it all. This is going to be fun.
Thanks in Advance for any and All Help
I use distilled water(7.0ph) during seedling/cloning till I see visual growth, then I'll go with a half dose foxfarm nutrition. seedling/ clone. Then feed that for a bit. Im personally try very hard NOT to over nute my babies. Happy growing... plus if you use distilled, you get away from the cities shit in the water. I use tap water, but my 3 to 4 gl ill make, sits in the 5gl bucket until use.
Mr.Growit has an awesome beginner growing guide that is most interesting and full of knowledge. I call it the Cannabis Bible...
I would lower the pH. Do you know if your tap water has chlorine or chloramine in it?
@mrgrowit, I'm not sure on the chloramine or chlorine content of city water, i let all water stand for a minimum of 24 hrs before using. I will lower the ph, and @david hughes I got distilled water for them, so thanks for the heads up, but do i need nutrients already if im growing in soil and it's Fox Farms or am i waiting for a couple of weeks. I'm in a 4x4x6.6 with a 1000w dual chip LED currently set to 48"(manufactures suggest for first week with seedlings)
And Thanks Guys
@swen1dab You may want to see if chloramine is in it because that doesn't dissipate in 24 hours. Depending on how many times you transplant, the nutrients in FoxFarm Ocean Forest soil should last you 20-40 days.
