AutoPot pots with solid nutrients, does it work well?

    in Grow Community

I have AutoPot SmartPot pots and I have solid GreendHouse nutrients that I would like to put only on the ground and with Autopot pots I would only put extra calcium water in the tank, is that a good idea? or would it be better to put the nutrients even solid in the water?

I'm about to try autopots for the first time. What specific solid nutrients are you talking about? Also, what type of calcium are you using and at what ratio?

What were your results using the Autopot? I've been researching lately and it looks like I will be using this on my next run. Thanks!

The top of the medium doesn't really stay moist well so I actually ran into deficiencies when just trying to feed via top dressing organic amendments. I even tried using a mulch layer and didn't get ideal results. I have had much better results with the blumat autowatering since it drips from the top. If you're growing with synthetic nutrients then I'm sure the autopot works great.

@psi00 should be fine. I don't see why it would be bad. But it's my first time using the autopot system so I'm new to this as well. I'm using organic dry nutrients amended in the soil and will top dress. Maybe someone else can chime in with additional information.
