The plants were fed bottled nutrients right? I usually do double the pot size. As I'm flushing I check the PPM of the runoff so it may not need double. You can use tap water if your municipal water district only uses chlorine and not chloramine. Just let it sit out for 24 hours first. The last gallon or so of water I put into the medium I pH.
@Mr. Grow It How should I treat flushing with tap water if my water district uses chloramine? And what exactly do we want the PPMs of the runoff to be?
@AllDay Unfortunately chloramine doesn't evaporate when you leave it out like chlorine does. Both will kill off beneficial microbes in the medium. Do you have access to filtered water? You may be able to fill up 5-gallon jugs of filtered water locally and use that.
Are you flushing mid-grow or prior to harvest?

@mwhite9829 No, I monitor the PPM of the runoff using a TDS tester. The "double the pot size" is just general guidance.
