Hi everyone!
New grower here. I live in an area with very low humidity. I am having an issue with keeping the RH up in my tent. Right now I'm sitting at 29% at 82 degrees F (running a humidifier and heater). I've cranked up the humidifier but it just fogged up my tent and my plants were not a fan of that experiment (they drooped pretty bad). My plants are in early veg and are looking very healthy. What kind of effect will this have in the long run? Thanks for any info you may have!
what are you using to get the RH if it’s foggy in there is definitely higher than 29%?
Sorry, what I meant is that I cranked up the humidifier as high as it would go and it just ended up fogging up everything and causing the plants to droop. Thanks for the info, Brandon!
It being to low on a young plant can cause the roots to develop slow as it gets bigger it being low is as bad but can cause it to become a hermi if it’s stressed also look into getting Mr.Grow It book 7steps to grow
I have the same exact issue that you have - RH being 29%. I have to use 1 humidifier in my grow tent and 1 humidifier in the room that my grow tent is in. I also use the AC Infinity Cloudline fan so air isn't always being exhausted from the grow space; it comes on when the temp/humidity reaches a certain setpoint. Low humidity increases transpiration and can lead to toxicity issues if too many nutrients (synthetic) are in the medium. IME it can also negatively impact bud structure in some phenos. You can also try using a mulch layer to help from the medium drying out too quickly.
I really appreciate you taking the time to respond, @Mr. Grow It! Any recommendations on what type of mulch to use?
@Bernie I use barley straw
