Yup, it's asked all the time :) .... Since it's asked so often, I created an article with the best LED grow lights for a 4x4 grow space. One thing to note is this list of lights was created last year and many new lights have been released since then that would make the list. I plan to create a 2020 version of this article in the next month or so.

I have watched that video many times..LoL I like the Gavita but I don't like that it can not be dimmed without the 250.00 controller. The HLG 550 puts out alot of heat. from all the vids i have seen...I have wasted so much money on blurps. For once i want to feel like i put my money in something right..Could you make that video a little faster heheh.. with that being said...
if you had 1,000 budget what would you get...I will not hold you responsible :)
Lol! Well I didn't want to jump to that assumption ;)
I actually just took down my ROI-E680 and will be trying out a new grow light - the SF-4000 by Spider Farmer. It covers a 4x4 area flowering (the 5x5 coverage they show of their listing is overstated) and it's priced only at $590. This is much cheaper than the $999 price tag that the ROI-E680 has. I just released a PAR test video on my 2nd YouTube channel and the numbers look good! I want to see if I can get the same plant growth with the SF-4000 as I did with the ROI-E680. So I can't vouch for it yet since I just started using it but it looks promising. I also got a discount code: MRGROWIT5 ... I do really like the ROI-E680 though! I'm just trying something new.
I think that "Best LEDs 2020" video will come sooner rather than later since I'm getting more and more questions about grow lights recently.
You mention the HLG light puts out a lot of heat. Not sure if you know this but a easy way to get an idea of how much heat a light outputs is by looking at wattage. The higher the watts, the more heat.
Here's that PAR test video I mentioned:
Thanks for the input on the more wattage = higher temps. After you saying it makes sense. duh..
Maybe i will hold off till your vid drops.. I have been reading and watching so many vids on lights my brain kinda hurts. It's kinda overwhelming for a new grower. I want something that is going not only last but worth the money.
I can also vouch for the roi-e680. Im on my first run with mine that I got with Mr. Gs discount code and to be honest with you, its almost to much for my 5x5. The thing is a beast! Like you snatched the sun from the sky and put it in your tent. I agree that the controller is a bit pricey but it makes operating the light much nicer.
