I have a plant about to finish its 9th week of flowering. It would be great if I could let it go another two weeks and then harvest and let it dry while gone for a week...would that be a bad idea or think it would be fine.

I agree with @Green thumb ... If you let it flower for longer than it needs, the trichomes degrade from THC to CBN (cloudy to amber).
It’s up to the trichomes. There is only a small window of time to harvest. They can’t be left to get over ripe.
