I am completely new to this so I just looked at Mr. Grow It's recommendations and bought the list.
-2x4 Cool Grows Grow tent
-Bestva LED Growlight Series 2000W
-Growneer 4" 200 CFM inline fan
-IPower Carbon filter
-IPower 4" duct
-Holmes Desk fan
The tent is all put together (very nice quality BTW) but I have no clue where to put the stuff. If anyone has any pictures, recommendations and tips, it would go a long way to help me. Have a great day!
Buy his book, it has great set up photos along with everything else needed.
Bought it last night! Super informative. Thanks!
Nice budget setup! This image should help:
I noticed a lot of setups have the fan and the carbon filter inside the tent. Is this preferable? And why?
Honestly, I did it that was simply because I saw everyone else doing it that way, but from what I understand you can place the carbon filter either inside the tent or at the end of the exhaust run to control the smell. Im sure one of the more experienced members on here can answer the "why" better...
I live in a super dry climate so humidity was a challenge, hence the wet hanging towels
Do you start your plants in the large bags or did you transfer them at a certain point?
I grew autoflower plants (since this was my first attempt) so those go right into their final 5 gallon fabric grow pot as soon as they germinate. If you haven't already, you should subscribe to Mr. Grow Its video series and/or download his book. I learned everything I know from his book and videos and help from fellow growers on this forum.
Has anyone ever used Miracle Grow potting soil? (If this sounds silly, I'm new. haha)
I personally used Fox Farms which has worked really well. The one thing I was ignorant about with the FF soil is that is has tons of nutrients in it already so I was worried for no reason when my PPM readings were really high. I technically didnt need to feed the plants until around week 4 because of this. I think another reasons FF soil is so popular is because it is somewhat pH balanced which helps. Definitely get yourself a PPM meter and a pH meter
Any chance you can get me a link to a PPM and pH meter that you would recommend?
I have been using EB Stone 420 Emerald Triangle soil. Easy to get and have compared to Fox Farms Ocean blend, i like both.
Thanks to everyone for the help. I'll post a few pics of what I have going on. I need to get a grate below the bags for drainage.
Might want to give that heater some space.
Do you have height on the tent?
