Question for Mr Grow It & Members

    in Grow Community

now that alot of states are Recreational Use i do see in alot of smoke shops selling the CBD Flower being sold from 1 gram to 5 gram at very fair prices

now the Question - if one gets any seeds from the CBD Flower and does try to grow it how will the actual plant turn out ? will it be like a regular plant or be lacking in a few things

meaning will the THC be about normal range of about 13 % to 24 % or very low like about 0.19 % to about 1.? % THC - as the CBD will read about 14.22 % to 16.08 % with a THC of 0.14 % or 0.19 %

or will it take a few generations of grows before things return back to a normal plant ?

did not know how to answer the question as i have not even tried to grow a CBD seed nor have i ever gotten one to attempt to grow or even have any kind of answer

it just might be something for me to try if i do get any seeds and see just how it all goes either way with or without males in the same area just let them fully mature and do their thing and hope for a good return on the seeds and plants

    thanks and happy growing

CBD flower comes from a cannabis plant - just like THC flower does. Genetics will determine the ratio of CBD to THC. As you know, there are hundreds of thousands of different strains so speculating certain THC/CBD percents for a seed found in a bag will be impossible.

yes i understand that but if i had several seeds from a actual CBD Flower and Label listed as such - and started to grow them knowing the flower was at 0.19THC will it stay the same at harvest ? or will it take several generations for the THC to get back to how it was before the THC was removed ?

or will the feeding of nutrients over time help restore the balance of THC/CBD percents along with other compounds naturally in the plant or will it be a waste of time - trying to help a new grower to the world and getting him setup as he is willing to try with his regular lineup going

    thanks

I dont believe it will work the way you are thinking, if you plan on cloning that same cbd plant run after run ect. I would think that unless you bred it with something else the dna of your clone would stay the same regardless of nutes. The nutrients dont play a part in genetics. I think you would have to introduce new genes.

@gregthe357 I agree with this. You should get about the same THC/CBD ratio with stable genetics; nutrients won't alter it.
