    Hey everyone,

1st year grower here and I've been extremely pleased with my grow so far. I have 10 plants that look to be about 2-3 weeks into flower (first small buds popped yesterday!). My question is, I did well with my LST and defoliation during veg but I still have some growth towards the bottom and was told any low hanging branches that don't reach over 50% of the height of the plant should be cut. This is an outside grow so I'm not overly concerned about height but I also don't want to end up with a ton of small popcorn buds. What's everyones opinion on trimming up lower growth this far into flower? Do I run the risk of more damage than good? Should I do it now to increase yield?

    Appreciate any insight.

I think you'll be fine pruning now. Looking at the bud formation, your plants looks more like week 1 of flower imo. I would guess the plants will continue to grow upwards for another 10-14 days or so. I personally still prune my plants all the way up until the plant stops stretching.

Thank you for the input! I'm nervous that they're going to stretch taller, that will put them above my fence line and I don't like the idea of advertising all this bud lol. Am I safe to bend them down as well?

    Thanks

@Eric Yes, you can also do low stress training. I do low stress training up until the plant stops stretching as well.
