I am doing my first grow (found the seed in some bud and have no clue on what variety it was), 8 weeks into flower and its still producing white hairs... around week 5 I moved things around to fit better and ended up moving the timer in the room too.. it had a standby light.. ended up getting a couple male flowers that I removed as soon as I saw them. Some did get pollinated but not much. After that it just started producing more flowers and still getting new hairs. How do I tell when to stop nutrients? Everywhere says 2 weeks before harvest, but how am I ment to tell its 2 weeks away if its going longer then the typical 8 weeks? Why couldn't I just get a normal one for my first time?
I’d start when I see tricombs stat to have a couple cloudy ones
Do you have a microscope to look at the trichomes on the plant? Some smartphones have good enough cameras where you can take a pic and then zoom in to see the color of the trichomes. As for when to stop nutrients, you'll get mixed answers. Some growers feed all the way until harvest while others will leach/flush their plants.
I have just downloaded a magnifier app but its hard to use.
When I noticed that I had a male flower I went through the whole plant looking for anymore balls, in doing so I ended up turning most of the hairs brown, could this be why it reverted back to putting out more hairs? Will this affect the trichomes?
Also using 100w LED, in soil 10L, temp 23-28°c (your turn to do the conversions.. mwhahaha) Humidity 45-55%. Quite a short plant.. didn't stretch much at all, only about 6". Few lessons learned on this baby.. bigger pot for one, have a few (hopefully not many) seeds in it so have better idea on how I want to do it next time. Just wish it had a faster flower, If it was finished in 8wks then I would have been ready now.... though I guess if its just stacking on more flower I shouldn't really be complaining, all good things take time!
My baby girl 😅 is about to wake up soon, so can have another good look at her with app. How long after pistons stop appearing do I need to be paying closer attention to trichomes? Do I wait for all or most of the hairs to turn brown? I think I need to re watch everything on YouTube... lol
Ps thanks heaps hopefully next grow won't be a horror show 🤣
@Josh Haines Not sure I fully understand your question about pistils. Each phenotype is different so you can see different growth characteristics on different plants. Some phenos you'll see pistils forming all the way up until harvest.
